"One Call Away" by Brenda Warner

Wow!  I just finished reading Brenda Warner’s book “One Call Away”.  I had never heard of Brenda before, but I had briefly heard of her husband Kurt – the football player.  I am so glad I read this book.  I couldn’t put it down and I read it in one night.  It really is a page turner! This book describes Brenda’s life and how she went through very challenging situations, but grew closer to God.  Because of the situations she endured, she is able to help others.  The first sad story in the book is about the horrific attack that her beloved horse withstood to protect her foal.  It left her horse injured, blind, and scared.  This sets the stage for many more sad instances in Brenda’s life.  With each phone call, Brenda had to hold steady to God to make it through each circumstance (good or bad) in her life.  She went from living on food stamps to living in a mansion.   When her husband became a football celebrity, she endured the bad parts of being a celebrity – criticisms and stigmas.  I don’t think anything can shake this woman.  Brenda is such a beautiful, Christian woman.  We are lucky to have her as a role model!

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
